Resources for East Asian Studies

 The Oxford International History of East Asia Seminar invites fellow PhD students and early career researchers to submit proposals for seminar presentations on any aspect of the international and transnational history of East and Southeast Asia, particularly papers on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. We are interested both in proposals exploring international and transnational connections within and between East and Southeast Asia as well as proposals considering the interaction of East/Southeast Asia and the wider world, including Africa, Latin America, Central Asia, and elsewhere. Those interested in speaking are invited to send a provisional title, an abstract no longer than 300 words, and a short biographical note to  IHEAOxSeminar@gmail.com  by 8th January, 2023. American Councils for International Education is currently hiring  2023 Korean Resident Directors for  language immersion programs of the  Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program  and the  National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) Program .  Resident Directors are the  first-level  of support for CLS students for the duration of the program. The Resident Director supports student success by ensuring the health and safety of the participants, helping them to maintain a language policy, and helping to acclimate them to life abroad.   The Resident Director position is a non-teaching position but requires a high level of proficiency in the target language.
